The Edmond Memorial Baseball Red Dirt Summer League provides an opportunity for players to compete and develop during the summer season.​​

Tryout Structure - 2 Days 

Tryouts are mandatory for all players interested in participating in the summer league.

 

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Players will demonstrate their basic baseball skills. The coaching staff will evaluate not only off of production (raw data), but also on projectability (how well a player moves/handles himself/hustles).

 

Players will need to come to tryouts wearing baseball pants, equipped with: Cleats, glove(s), bat, helmet, and catchers will need their gear.

Players/parents will check in at the front gate on day 1, and bring a check for the fees.

Value - $550

 

The Red Dirt League plays 2 doubleheaders per week for 5 weeks starting after Memorial Day. In the first week of June, we will have a camp specifically designed for our incoming players. This camp will be 3 days worth of introduction to the way we do things. More information on the camp will be given when the teams are announced.

Making the summer team also includes 6 weeks of summer strength and conditioning programmed specifically for baseball players.

Payment breakdown is as follows:

 

• Red Dirt League Fees - $350

• 3 Day Team Camp - $100

• 6-Week Strength and Conditioning - $100

 

Any player who plays football and is in Summer Pride is not required to lift with us, and that part of the fee will be waived. 

 

Season Schedule

The summer league schedule is as follows:

 

• Game Dates: Monday through Wednesday, May 26 to June 24.

• Game Frequency: Players will have 2 doubleheaders per week.

• Game Times: Games will be scheduled for either 12:00 PM or 5:00 PM.

 

Equipment and Attire

Player-Provided Equipment

All players must use bats that are -3 NFHS/NOCSAE certified. Each player will need a pair of solid grey baseball pants.

Issued Equipment

Each player will be issued the following equipment:

 

• Helmet: To be returned at the end of the season.

• Shirts (2): To keep.

• Hat (1): To keep.

 

Transportation

Players and parents are responsible for carpooling to all games.
